So I felt randomly bold the other morning and broadcasted my morning face on Instagram to show my “15-minute daily makeup routine”
And shortly after doing so, I was left feeling compelled to say a little something about the work I do.
As a ‘makeup artist’ by trade, I’ll admit that I’ve got pretty pro at covering things up over the years but makeup is not about hiding or covering things up for me.
It never has been.
And it goes a little deeper than just enhancing the goodness that is already there.
Make-up is merely a tool that I discovered years ago which enabled me to change the way I feel about myself, and when working with others, change the way they feel about themselves.
Whether that’s a natural wedding make-up, a glammed up red carpet look or a full-on Halloween prosthetic transformation.
As a lover of creativity and all things theatrical I love how makeup can be used to change the way we see ourselves as well as the way those around us see us… BUT IT’S ALL JUST PLAY AT THE END OF THE DAY.
I don’t believe we should ever want to permanently alter what makes each and every one of us so unique and special. We should never try to hide who we truly are as I don’t believe you can ever live a peaceful life if you are not accepting of and are at constant war with yourself.
Enhancing moods and increasing confidence is really the business I’m in and what I love to do on a daily basis in whatever way I can – it just so happens that I found a way to do this through make-up artistry.
